Who Are We?
In collaborating with like-minded organizations, our purpose is to be channels of God’s grace and encouragement supporting informal caregivers and training Christian care mentors.
What is our Purpose?
In collaborating with like-minded organizations, our purpose is to be channels of God’s grace and encouragement supporting informal caregivers and training Christian care mentors.
Who are the informal caregivers?
Informal caregivers are unpaid individuals who care for a loved one during prolonged ill health. While they are the backbone of the healthcare system, they are of all healthcare providers the most neglected and uncared for. You see them in your community:
-
- Sally is a 24/7 at-home caregiver for her 100-year-old grandmother.
- Tom, a 42-year-old single dad, cares for his dementia-stricken father.
- 18-year-old Lilly cares for her dying mom after school so her dad can go to work.
- Nina lives at home with her husband who has been in palliative care for 4 years.
What is our Vision Development Process?
We were encouraged and challenged by the work of others such as the Ontario Caregivers Organization. We asked God to confirm our passion as we prayed Luke 10:2 “…Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”
God provided a Vision Development Team who defined our purpose and who we wish to be. They agreed on our organizational name “Christian Caregivers Network” and confirmed our core values and Statement of Faith.
What are Our Core Values and Statement of Faith?
- We are biblically based, prayer-bathed, and Holy Spirit-led.
- We are an interdenominational, not-for-profit movement.
- We will not discriminate; as followers of Jesus Christ, we will help everyone made in the image of God.
- We are a network and a movement, not an organization or institution.
- We abide by the Evangelical Fellowship Of Canada Statement of Faith.
